After a late Friday night, we wanted to chill so we went to Moe’s Chalet. Never fails every time mentioning Moe’s the response is what are you doing there. We’re asked because Moe’s has an older crowd. We’re in our early thirties and don’t enjoy the boodie music and younger clubs as much anymore. We like it there for many reasons; it’s comfortable, drinks are strong, and they have excellent live music.
I can’t think of a better bar with live music in Metairie than Moe’s Chalet. Where else can you hear a quality band in Metairie with no cover charge? Let us know if you know of any other places. Hurricanes come to mind but it is a small bowling alley, closet bathroom, no seating, slow service, and most of the time the bands suck. Moe’s Chalet is a better option. Moe’s is very comfortable; large dance floor, plenty of seating (arrive early 9pm), great bartenders (I prefer Mr. Al), nice bathrooms, and video poker. Moe’s has an older crowd but younger people are allowed.

The instrumental band Local Option 2 didn’t disappoint. They mixed it up and were happy to take requests. The stage wasn’t big enough for the band but that didn’t faze them one bit. They were excellent and we would recommend you check out Local Option 2.
